What We Do
Founded in 1978, the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation exists to advance educational and research efforts in the neurosciences. The original cohort of donors to the Foundation include Mayfield physicians, residents, nurses and other administrative staff.
The mission of the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation is to advance the care of patients with brain and spine disorders through leading-edge education and research.
The Foundation's priorities are as follows:
- We support innovative research that advances the field and spurs the development of tools, technologies, and procedures that improve patient care.
- We support hands on education of physicians and other health care professionals to guarantee that Cincinnati and the United States will continue to lead the way in the international field of neuroscience.
- We support compassionate education of patients and the community.
- We maintain the Mayfield Surgical Innovation Center, a cadaveric training lab that attracts medical professionals and medical device companies from around the world.
The Mayfield Foundation supports lectures, courses, clinics, and conferences that provide hands-on learning alongside classroom instruction and collegial discussion.
