What We Do
Founded in 1978, the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation exists to advance educational and research efforts in the neurosciences. The original cohort of donors to the Foundation include Mayfield physicians, residents, nurses and other administrative staff.
The mission of the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation is to advance the care of patients with brain and spine disorders through leading-edge education and research.
The Foundation's priorities are as follows:
Our foundation supports innovative research that advances the field and spurs the development of tools, technologies, and procedures that improve patient care. We also maintain the Mayfield Surgical Innovation Center, a cadaveric training lab that attracts medical professionals and medical device companies from around the world.
The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation supports lectures, courses, clinics, and conferences that provide hands-on learning alongside classroom instruction and collegial discussion. Every year, The Winter Clinics for Cranial and Spinal Surgery brings together nationally recognized neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons for a week of educational programming on today's most pressing topics.
